Snoopy's Chevron Stripes

I couldn't let the challenge to use Chevron Stripes over at Moxie Fab World go without adding this fun Snoopy birthday card!!

I stitched vellum over the patterned paper and added a bit of scrap paper below snoopy to ground him.

So much fun to make!!

Kites into Flowers

Here is a good example of why my "scrap bin" gets so full.  These are kites.  Yup, paper pieces from some of my yummy scrap papers.  But here is the problem.  Instead of just making one ... I sat down one night and made about 15 of them.  Not sure why I do it ..I guess I just can't decide what colors I like best.  So, when I got done I thought to myself ... now what am I going to do with them all??  And at one point, I realized that if you put them in a circle, they kinda looked like a flower.

So, at least I've used up 6 of them.  The rest will appear on cards over time ...

LOL!

Scrappy Love

(note - blogger was supposed to post this yesterday but didn't!  That is frustrating when that happens.  It seems to say scheduled when I look but then decides to change it back to draft ... anyone know why that happens???)

I found all of these lovely pieces (5) in my scrap bin and pulled them together to create this love you card.

To make everything work well together, I sponged Close to Cocoa ink around the edges.

Amazing what a few pieces of leftovers can create!!

Thanks for dropping by today!  I hope your day is fantastic.

Miss You Monkey

I picked up this cute Changito stamp a few months ago from my local scrapbooking store.  I still hadn't used it so decided I'd better get at it.

The pant leg is paper pieced so that it matched that yummy polka dot patterned paper.  And Changito is colored with my pencil crayons (Prismacolor).

Papers are from BasicGrey.

Thanks for dropping by.

Birthday Birdie

Love, love, love this bird punch from Stampin' Up!   I have lots of plans for it ... just haven't gotten a change to carry them out yet. Stay tuned!

This card was created at the Stampin' Up! party that my niece had back in April.  It was lots of fun.

Thanks for dropping by my little corner of the www!!  Enjoy your day.

Masculine Wedding Card

So do you think it is possible to make a masculine wedding card?  Would you ever need one? What about those times when you know the groom and not the bride .. and the groom is ... well, an ol' country boy!  I think this card would be perfect!!

I recieved this great image from my Secret Sister, Linda as well as those awesome metal corner brads.  The "brad" part didn't really work for me so I just cut off the tines and used glue dots to make them stay where I wanted them to.  The card base is stamped with Designer Woodgrain (Hero Arts), one of my all time go to stamps these days!!

Thanks for dropping by, I certainly appreciate you!!

Chevron Stripes

Cath over at Moxie Fab World is going on and on and on about the latest trend ... you've sure to have seen them ... chevron strips!!

Well, I had seen the challenge to make a card with them just before checking out Nichole Heady's blog and saw the card she created with that little thing strip of cardstock ... and I said to myself "I could do that for the chevron challenge".  And voila, a card is born!!

I chose a rainbow of colors and carefully used my pinking shears to cut tiny thin chevron strips.  Now, it may sound easy but let me tell you .. IT IS NOT!!  I definately got better as I went.

Stamps - Round and Round (anniversary set from Papertrey ink)

Thanks for dropping by and for sharing your comments about my work.  Off to see what other brilliant ideas were used for this challenge.

Image Swap - Denise's May Image

This is the latest image that has been swapped in the image swap that I am in over at SCS.  I believe this is a Mo Manning image.  I decided t use this piece of awesome BasicGrey paper.  That gave me my color combo.  I picked out yellow, pink, and blue copic markers and went to town coloring this gal in.  Then, I broke out the Stickles and added some to her wings, edge of her tutu, and ont he stars and sprinkles on the cupcake. Yummy!
If you want to check out more of the cards made by the other girls in the swap you can do so by looking in the gallery HERE.

Thanks for dropping by.

Clean and Very Simple

Here are 2 cards that I created.  They go beyond Clean and Simple ... they are Clean and Very Simple.  You see, I purchased this awesome cardstock a while ago (probably a few years knowing me LOL).  It is delicious kraft cardstock (12 x 12) with these lovely flower images along the bottom.  When I saw it I knew it would work perfectly for a few CAVS cards!   A stamped sentiment and metal embellishments that were colored with a Copic marker was all it took!

OLW 52 - Circles

Yup, another One Layer Wednesday .. and I just got this one posted in time.  (I have been away again for work but this should be the last one until next year!!)
I have realized that I love making Clean and Simple cards but getting them to be One Layer is what I find rather difficult!!  So when I heard "circles" I decided to do some masking -- an easy way to create interesting cards and keep it one layer!
To create this card, I punched 1" circles from a large post it note, adhered the sticky note onto a kraft card, then stamped the Designer Woodgrain image (Hero Arts) onto the card.  Then, I sponged on a bit of brown ink to complete the circles!  Also, when I added the post it note, I left a little of the cardstock showing along the bottom to get a base.

A simple sentiment (Around and About - Papertrey Ink) and some red and white baker's twine (Martha Stewart) and this CAS OLW card is complete!!

Using Scraps

Hi all!   Today I have a card made from many scraps that I have had for a very, very long time.  If you have been around my blog much you willl know that I like to challenge myself to use up scraps every once in a while.  This is one of those cards.

See those blue flowers ... they were punched out waaaaay back when I used to take a Stampin' Up! class.  And the grass bottom too.  They have been just sitting there in my scrap bin for a few years so I decided to finally do something with them.

I kinda like the white panel popped up on the white card base.  and the white eyelets (also something I've had for a long time but never use) really add some interest and dimension.

Hope you all have a great day!

Masculine Scraps?

Here is another card using up some bits of scrap I've been holding on to for a while.  See those flower "things" there ... they were cut our of some old patterned paper.  They look all rustic and cowboyish .. which is why I can't help but feel like this could be a masculine card even though they look like flowers.  What do you all think???

The 'flowers' were added to the black strip of paper using black brads.  Some natural hemp was tied around one end and then the whole thing was popped up on the kraft cardstock with dimensionals.  A simple sentiment (Birthday Basics, Papertrey Ink) was the only stamping on this simple card.

Oh and sorry about the weird color ... I tried to fix it but couldn't quiet get it to look normal!  Just invision the right color hue and what not!!!

Have a great day.  Thanks for dropping in for a visit!!

Best Wishes

Here is a card I made using some of my newest 6x6 BasicGrey papers (Curio) and some of my newest toys from my secret sister, Linda ... see it ... the Fillable Frames Die #4 and stamp set to match from Papertrey Ink!  Wowzers ... isn't she the greatest!!!!!!??????

I love these papers ... and this one in particular.  Usually I would hoard it ... but not any more!!  I pulled it out, cut it up, and actually used it!!!!  Yeeee haaaaaa!!

Speedy Cat's Hat Pin challenge

I was visiting one of my favorite blogs, Simplicity by Susan and I saw that she stretched waaaaaaaaaay outside of her comfort zone and used a hat pin on a card.  She didn't do it because she "felt like it".  Oh no, she did it because that was the challenge given over at Mark's Finest Paper's Speedy Cat's Challenge #53!

So, I thought to myself ... if Susan can do it, surely I can too!  So I did!  Look at all that stuff on there.  Nothing really clean and simple about this card.

The lovely designer paper is from Stella and Rose Gertie 6x6 paper pad (My Mind's Eye) and the sentiment is from Everyday Classics (Papertrey Ink).

Now, I think I'll drop over to see what everyone else did with hat pins.  If Susan and I can do it you can too!! Wanna try???

Thanks for dropping by!

Ahoy Matey! SS Supplies

I have recently been in a swap over at Splitcoaststampers where we have a "secret sister" who sends us all sorts of wonderful images and supplies to create cards.

It just finished and I am so lucky to have had Linda as my secret sister!  She sent me the greatest things!!  Today I decided to pull out all the goodie bags and dive in to play.

Here is one of the cards I created.  Isn't this image just the cutest!!   Linda sent the image, some Papertrey Ink designer papers (the red here), and some solid Papertrey Ink cardstock (the blue here is Spring Rain) in this package.  There are so many supplies that I will have lots left to make many more cards after this one!

I loved how the boy is so dissheveled so I decided to do some tearing to the bottom of the designer paper.  I also added the sentiment and the anchor image on the card base from the Papertrey Ink set called Out to Sea.  I kept it very clean and simple to try to keep it fairly masculine.

The image is colored with my Copic markers.  I tried a new technique today with the shadow on the ground.  I have seen it somewhere else and really likedt he look.  You simply take a few markers of similar color and use dots to create shadow.  Not sure if I did it right but I think it looks okay.

I created some more cards too but I will save them for another day!
Thanks for stopping by.
